Blackburn in money thanks to Jones' Man Utd success

Blackburn Rovers are in the money thanks to Phil Jones' instant impact at Manchester United.

The Lancashire Telegraph says Rovers will receive £100,000 for each of Phil Jones' first 20 caps for England after the defender made his senior international debut on Friday night.

Jones departed Rovers to join Manchester United for an initial fee of around £16.5m in June but Venky's were keen to stress that the price could eventually rise to over £20m after add-ons.

Jones has been tipped to be an England regular for years to come and that could earn Rovers up to £2m, with United set to pay £100,000 for each cap he earns up to a maximum of 20 under the terms of the player's summer transfer.
