Blackburn Rovers have missed out on Ewood Park legend Tugay joining the club's staff.
Tugay has been appointed Head of Youth at Turkish giants Galatasaray - to lure him away from a tempting opportunity to return to Ewood Park.
The former Rovers midfielder had held early talks with Rovers with regards an involvement in the club's youth set up but Galatasaray's interest ultimately proved too good to turn down.
Tugay informed Rovers chairman John Williams of his decision on Monday afternoon but stated he would one day relish the chance to return to Blackburn Rovers.
Williams said: "We did hold preliminary discussions with Tugay but this is a fantastic chance for him and we wish him all the best."
