Zenit St Petersburg are claiming that Blackburn have made an offer for Russian star Pavel Pogrebnyak. "Yesterday (Tuesday), Blackburn officials contacted us and made an offer for Pogrebnyak," president Maxim Mitrofanov confirmed to Sovietsky Sport.

"Their offer is almost the same as our valuation.

"If they send us the offer officially in time, we will contact Pogrebnyak and will persuade him to go to England."

The 25 year old, who has scored 28 goals in 51 games for Zenit, has admitted he would relish the chance to make the switch to the Premier League.

"I am a huge fan of the English Premier League, to play there is my dream," he told Sport Express.
