Blackburn knock Vetra for six

Blackburn eased through into the second qualifying round of the Uefa Cup with a 4-0 victory on the day and 6-0 on aggregate against FK Vetra.

The Premier League outfits task was made easier when Dejan Miloseski was sent off just before half time for elbowing Stephen Warnock.

Rovers only scare against the team from Lithuania came midway through the first forty five minutes when Severino Lima De Moura raced clear but the Brazilian dragged his effort wide.

Within three minutes the Morten Gamst Pedersen had headed home a David Bentley cross but the home side really took control at the beginning of the second half with three strikes in seven minutes.

Jason Roberts began the goal avalanche followed by Rovers top scorer last season Benni McCarthy before Pedersen added his second of the afternoon.

Blackburn boss Mark Hughes made a flurry of substitutions including a debut for summer signing, Dutch U21 international Maceo Rigters.

"It was comfortable in the end but we still had a job to do," said Hughes.

"Once the sending off happened it was a case of remaining professional and seeing the job through until the end, which is what we did.

"The quality of our crosses was excellent and that was also a vital part of our performance."
