Phil Jones isn't getting carried away after making his debut for Blackburn Rovers this week.

The 17 year-old centre-half won praise for his performance in Rovers' Cup win and said: "I'll keep my feet on the ground, I've still got a long way to go but hopefully I'll keep progressing and push my way into the first team.

"I don't think the gaffer will push me too much, I'll keep playing well in the Reserves and when a chance like this comes along again hopefully I can take it.

"It is a massive boost for young players coming through, the though that the gaffer will give young players a chance to prove their quality in the first team and hopefully I can do more of that."
