Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper Brad Friedel was disappointed to see Mark Hughes move to Manchester City.

He told Sky Sports: "He is an ambitious man and when a job came up his name came up and he was linked strongly and I think there was a reason for that, I think word got around he was very good at his job.

"When you are at a club like Blackburn it will be financially hard to keep hold of ambitious people.

"I haven't spoken to him but I am sure he did it for ambitious reasons."
