Blackburn insist Savage staying

Blackburn Rovers have issued a "hands off" warning to clubs interested in signing midfielder Robbie Savage.

And chairman John Williams has stressed the club has no intention of selling any of its top players.

Roy Keane's Sunderland are the latest to express an interest in the 33-year-old former Welsh international, with Derby and Wigan also rumoured to be preparing bids for the midfielder in the January transfer window.

But Williams told the : "At this moment in time we are not sellers of any of our players, that's our position."

Savage was rumoured to be unsettled after spending a spell on the bench, following a knee injury earlier in the season.

But he has played the last two games for Rovers and manager Mark Hughes insists his countryman is not looking for pastures new.

He said: "Sav is not happy when he's not playing, but he's playing so I'm sure he's happy."
