Blackburn hit by £100,000 fine for poor disciplinary record

Blackburn have been handed a £100,000 fine for their poor disciplinary record last season.

The sanction comes on the back of recent claims made by Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger that Rovers showed a "desire for violence" against his side, during their 1-1 Premier League draw last Sunday.

Although the fine is based on the previous campaign, the timing is unfortunate for Blackburn manager Mark Hughes who has been forced to defend the physical nature of his side once again this week.

Along with the fine the FA have issued the Ewood Park outfit with a warning to clean up their act this season, or face a further £50,000 penalty.
