Blackburn fans passion can keep us up, insists Nelsen

Blackburn Rovers defender Ryan Nelsen says Ewood Park's home fans can make the difference in their survival push.

Nelsen reflects back to home wins against Wigan and Portsmouth leading Rovers to top flight safety in 2008 and insists a 'big atmosphere' does make a difference.

He told the Lancashire Telegraph: "I have been here long enough to know when we find ourselves in situations like this before the fans have been able to lift us out of it.

"I can remember games against Wigan and Portsmouth especially, when the fans genuinely did become the 12th man in terms of the whole ground seemed to join together to help us to achieve victory.

"We are looking for the same sort of thing on Saturday against a Blackpool team that should be in no way under estimated.

"The way Blackpool have played this season has brought a whole new dimension to the Premier League. They are an unpredictable side and can win 4-0 one week and lost 4-0 the next."
