Blackburn eyeing second loan move for West Ham's Henry

Blackburn Rovers boss Gary Bowyer has revealed that the club is pondering the possibility of having Doneil Henry back next season.

The Canadian centre-back, 21, joined Rovers on a short-term loan from West Ham United in January which was recently cut short due to a hamstring injury.

Henry impressed in his three-game stint with the Championship outfit which has prompted Bowyer to suggest that there is a plan in place to get him back to Ewood Park next term starting with an invitation to the upcoming FA Cup quarter-final replay with Liverpool.

"The most important thing is Doneil has a successful operation and then continues his rehab," Bowyer told the Lancashire Telegraph of the former Toronto FC star.

"But we'll certainly stay in touch with him and then assess things in the summer. The poor lad has got a bit of work to do before then.

"There are plans for him to come up to see the boys because he made such a great impression during his short spell with us and he built a real relationship with the players and the staff.

"We're looking forward to seeing him and I think we're trying to get him up for the Liverpool match. Doneil was fantastic on his debut and he continued that form right up until he got injured. He helped us to three wins out of three so he will be a big loss to us."
