Hoffenheim's American right-back Daniel Williams is on the radar at Blackburn Rovers.

The People says Rovers top spy Simon Hunt watched the 22-year-old in international action last week and may try to set up a loan deal in the window.

Williams was born in Karlsruhe but was recently given American citizenship - and a place in Jurgen Kilnsmann's USA side.

Rovers want competition for 36-year-old Spaniard Michel Salgado, with midfielder Jason Lowe, 20, having to fill in, and Williams could be a cheap option.
