Chowdery revealed at the weekend that he values Rovers at £40 million and would consider buying the club from the current owners, the Walker trustees.
However a spokesman for Rothschilds, the brokers working on behalf of Rovers, claim that there is no new development in the club's search for investment.
"Things are going slowly. From our point of view there is no new story at the moment."
Rovers chairman John Williams added: "Our position is that there are a number of interested parties, but there is no new news. There is nothing imminent."
