Blackburn Rovers defender Christopher Samba is chasing a move to Anzhi.

The £12million-rated Rovers skipper, 27, was last night praying a deal could be done before today's Russian transfer deadline, says The Sun.

Earlier in the week it looked as though the Congolese centre-back was about to end his bitter two-month feud with the club.

On Monday, he returned to training for the first time since announcing he wanted to leave Ewood Park early in January.

But he has been absent from the final preparations for tomorrow's trip to Manchester City.
