Gael Givet is close to departing Blackburn Rovers to join Livorno.
The 31-year old French defender has a year to run on his Ewood Park deal and the Lancashire club is reportedly prepared to issue him with a payout if he decides to leave.
That will leave him as a free agent to join Livorno for nothing as Blackburn continue negotiations to allow him to leave.
However, the Italian club says nothing has yet been sorted.
"In reference to negotiations for the possible transfer of Gael Givet, AS Livorno Calcio point out that no financial agreement has been reached with the French player's club," read a club statement.
