Blackburn Rovers have confirmed the signing of Simon Vukcevic from Sporting Lisbon.
The 25-year old Montenegrin midfielder has signed a three-year deal with the Rovers and could be available to start against Everton this weekend provided he obtains his visa and work permit.
"Hopefully he'll be back in the country some time tomorrow," said Blackburn boss Steve Kean.
"It's going to be difficult for him to be involved in (the Carling Cup) game because he has not even trained with us.
"But if he comes back with all the appropriate paperwork then he will train with us on Thursday and Friday in preparation for the Everton game."
Vukcevic is the fourth new arrival at Ewood Park this summer, following David Goodwillie, Radosav Petrovic and Bruno Ribeiro to Lancashire.
