Celtic face stiff Premiership competition for French winger Olivier Thomert.

The Scottish Sun says Hoops gaffer Tony Mowbray had the talented Rennes attacker watched at the weekend.

Thomert is available for £800,000 and apart from Celtic, Portsmouth are also following him closely.

Blackburn, Bolton and Espanyol were also linked with him during the last transfer window, so Celtic could be involved in a mid-winter scramble for the sought-after star.
