Blackburn chasing Racing Santander midfielder Papakouly Diop

Blackburn Rovers boss Steve Kean is chasing Racing Santander midfielder Papakouly Diop.

The Mirror says Kean can sign the 25-year-old international on a short-term deal when the transfer window opens next month - and hopes to sort out terms shortly.

Diop is one of several Santander players who can leave the club as it battles financial difficulties.

Kean is looking for a midfielder to add strength to his team, and bitterly regrets Rovers’ failure to land American Jermaine Jones on loan from Germany's Schalke for a second time this season.
