Blackburn Rovers chairman John Williams refused to give Paul Ince a vote of confidence after yesterday's defeat to Wigan Athletic.
The Mail on Sunday says Williams did nothing to dampen speculation over the future of the former Manchester United and England midfielder by declining to give Ince his backing.
Asked if he would comment on Ince's position, Williams said abruptly: "No."
Asked if there might be an announcement by the end of last night, he answered: "Unlikely."
Asked if a decision could be expected over the weekend, Williams replied: "No comment."
