Blackburn Rovers chairman John Williams insists there's still some way to go before Robbie Fowler is offered a contract.

"The story has been blown out of all proportion," he told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph. "Robbie had a conversation with Paul Ince and Paul has agreed to take him to Germany for pre-season training, where he will assess his fitness.

"Obviously, they both know each other well from their days together with England and Liverpool, but we've not made a decision of any kind as yet, and we've certainly not offered him a contract."
