Blackburn Rovers chairman John Williams has described their loan capture of Manchester United fullback Danny Simpson as a "coup".
"I think it's a bit of a coup for us - Paul's delighted to have him here," Williams told the Lancashire Telegraph. "Sir Alex Ferguson has been asked by a lot of managers, including Paul, for Danny and we're pleased to have him.
"We're looking for good competition for places across the squad.
"Danny's a talented, young lad and I'm sure he's ready for the challenges that lie ahead."
