Blackburn Rovers chairman John Williams has revealed they're stepping up their striker search.

He told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph: "We've stepped up the hunt this week and it's possible we might be able to do something.

"We are in more detailed discussions with various parties, but we haven't cracked it just yet."

Rovers boss Mark Hughes is believed to have a shortlist of four names, which includes Roque Santa Cruz [Bayern Munich] and James Beattie [Everton].
