Blackburn Rovers chairman John Williams says a loan move for striker Maceo Rigters is under consideration.

He told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph: "That's a discussion for Mark Hughes but it's a possibility. I know Mark is very happy with him, and he's happy at the club, but if it was felt that it was in the best interests of the players' development then we may consider it.

"We had numerous discussions about whether we should let Paul Gallagher go out on loan and we felt that it was, at least until January.

"It's just about grabbing opportunities and it's a consequence of having a good squad but also not having many injuries."
