Blackburn Rovers chairman John Williams has assured fans they will not give up their best players to Mark Hughes' Manchester City.

"Mark knows better than anyone how much support we give our managers in those circumstances," he told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.

"The new manager, when he's appointed, will get exactly the same level of support as Mark always had on all player related issues."
