Blackburn caretaker boss Kean happy to count on Hanley

Blackburn Rovers caretaker boss Steve Kean is happy to count in Scottish youngster Grant Hanley.

Kean had no qualms in giving Grant Hanley his first Ewood start in the Boxing Day match against Stoke City.

He told the Rovers website: "It is never easy, Chris Samba failed a fitness test on the morning of the match, so Grant came in.

"He played away at Villa last year and did well, so I had no qualms in giving him his first home start.

"He's an up and coming emerging young player, so that is another game under his belt.

"I'm sure he'll play many more games for the club."
