Injured Blackburn Rovers captain Ryan Nelsen says the pressure is firmly on Wolves ahead of Sunday's potential relegation battle in the English Premier League. 15th-placed Blackburn take on Wolves, who are one place behind but equal on points, at Wolverhampton's Molineux Stadium in the final weekend of EPL action for the season and Nelsen says there will be high expectations on the home side.
"If you had a choice you'd probably rather be at home, of course," the New Zealand skipper told Sky Sports News.
"But it means there's going to be greater expectations on the home team and the fans are going to demand more from the home team.
"The pressure will really be on them to perform, whereas we can do what we want to do."
Both clubs are one point clear of the drop zone but with the likes of Birmingham City, Wigan Athletic and Blackpool going out this Sunday in search of points, Nelsen knows that it will be a high-pressure contest which he feels the Rovers players will rise up to.
"I think we've had some really good results and some really good performances," he added.
"I think going to Wolves is an exciting prospect for the lads and the guys are really looking forward to it.
"It's games (like this) that really bring the best out of you.
"I think everybody on our team is looking forward to the opportunity to show off their skills when the pressure is at its highest."
