Schalke striker Kevin Kuranyi was being lined up by Rovers boss Sam Allardyce as a possible replacement for Roque Santa Cruz. Allardyce admitted to an interest in Kuranyi, who was also wanted by Everton, but concedes he will wait until the summer before deciding whether to make a bid.
"Yes," said Allardyce on Sky Sports News when asked if Kuranyi was a target.
"I've not even thought about the summertime. I've got to make sure we secure our Premier League status first before we even think about what's going to happen in the summer, so we can't plan for that yet until we know where we are."
