Blackburn Rovers manager Tony Mowbray expects Harrison Reed to arrive at Ewood Park before the transfer window shuts on August 31.

The Southampton defender, 23, will join on a season-long loan deal, according to Sky Sports.

Mowbray said: "I am pretty confident that this particular one will happen before the weekend hopefully.

"I just feel they need a little bit of help as it would be difficult to go for the next five months with the group we've got.

"Ideally before the window shuts we add two, three, or four to the group and get on with it."
