Blackburn boss Kean struggling to land his transfer targets

Blackburn Rovers boss Steve Kean is struggling to land his targets in the summer market.

The Mirror says Kean is being dogged by transfer problems and doubts about the size of his budget. Rovers have stepped back from paying for several players in recent weeks.

However the failure to land Standard Liege's Axel Witsel - with all of the advantages that Rovers had in the chase - is a depressing setback as Kean looks to make up for the loss of FOUR players who ended the season in his squad.

Phil Jones has been sold, while Jermaine Jones is back in Germany. Both Roque Santa Cruz and Mame Biram Diouf have returned to their clubs. Rovers have not signed a senior player yet.
