Blackburn Rovers boss Steve Kean wants his January signings to be making an instant impact.

Kean is now intent on bringing some more tried and trusted player to the club to help ease any relegation fears.

Kean said: "It hasn't helped not having Ryan Nelsen, David Dunn, Michel Salgado and Vince Grella - the experienced ones.

"Ryan and David know the Premier League inside out.

"We have also lost a Brett Emerton and a guy like Jermaine Jones, when you lose that age bracket and experience it is harder for the younger ones.

"When we are recruiting now, we will be looking for guys that will hit the ground running - that is no disrespect to the guys we have brought in."
