Blackburn Rovers boss Steve Kean has paid tribute to former club captain Christopher Samba.
Kean was magnanimous enough to wish Chris Samba all the best at Anzhi Makhachkala, despite there being no acknowledgment from the defender of the disruption he caused during months of agitating for a move.
"He was a great servant while he was here, and I hope he does really well out in Russia," said the Blackburn manager.
"If he had apologised for his conduct and asked to return to the squad, I'm sure everyone would have accepted him back in. But he never withdrew his transfer request and didn't want to apologise."
