Blackburn boss Kean plays down sensational Brazilian transfer rumours

Blackburn Rovers boss Steve Kean has shrugged off last week's rumours of Brazilian superstars arriving in the summer.

Having met his bosses for the third time in Mumbai early last week, Kean insists no discussions were held about future transfer targets as they focus on the present.

He told the Lancashire Telegraph: "I was in Mumbai the day before the lads went to Dubai. It is my third time there. It was a good meeting and backed up with a good training camp for the lads. All in all it was an excellent week.

"It wasn't on anything that was going to happen next year. There were no names mentioned about who is coming in and who is going out.

"It was just a progress report about how the squad is shaping up and how things are evolving and developing. It was really positive.

"At this point it is a case of ignoring the names and the speculation. We would like to just draw a line under it and say we are always going to be linked with these type of players because the owners would like to eventually bring a landmark signing in.

"We will be linked with every single top name that may be available but I would not be drawn on any names. We will say I am delighted with the squad we have assembled."
