Blackburn Rovers boss Steve Kean is eager to secure several senior players to new contracts.
The Lancashire Telegraph says Kean now wants to open talks with further players to try to avoid even the slightest risk of losing key men on Bosman free transfers in the future.
The Rovers boss has mentioned no names publicly so far but Paul Robinson and Gael Givet have less than two years left on their current deals and could be among those in his thoughts.
David Dunn and Jason Roberts both have contracts currently due to expire next summer.
