Blackburn boss Kean had no idea over Nelsen release to Tottenham

Blackburn Rovers boss Steve Kean was left in the dark over Ryan Nelsen’s move to Tottenham, it has been revealed.

The People says the Scot did not know the Kiwi's contract had been cancelled by Blackburn.

it is believed Kean had not been told about Nelsen's move to Spurs until the deal was going through because senior officials at Blackburn had agreed with the 34-year-old New Zealand skipper to cancel the remaining term of his contract by mutual consent.

It is believed Nelsen has been fit to play for Blackburn but was left on the sidelines after falling out with Kean.

And its understood that Tottenham were angered by Kean's suggestion during a TV interview that the defender was not fit enough to play in the Premier League, having appeared for Rovers only once since April due to a knee injury.
