Blackburn boss Kean delighted with rapid Hanley progress

Blackburn Rovers boss Steve Kean is delighted with the progress of defender Grant Hanley.

With a first senior cap for Scotland on the horizon, fellow Scot Kean has been delighted with the progress shown by the 19-year-old.

"Grant's progress has been quite dramatic, he only made his debut last year away at Aston Villa when we beat them 1-0 on the last day of the season," the Rovers boss told the club's website.

"The fact that he's come in and can partner Ryan Nelsen, Chris Samba or Gael Givet and look so experienced bearing in mind he is still a young man is brilliant, I've been very impressed with him.

"I think if he can continue to progress then he has a bright future ahead, both for us at the club and also I think he's got a bright international future."
