Blackburn Rovers boss Steve Kean hopes Christopher Samba and Jason Roberts pen new deals today.
The Scot admits Saturday's defeat to Aston Villa will disappoint the new owners - who he talks to every day - but is concentrating on building his squad.
Kean said: "They would have liked a good cup run and certainly I would have. That's why we picked as strong a team as we did today and we did in the last round.
"I phone and speak to the owners every day and I try to get myself out to India once a month to have a longer and more detailed chat.
"I think what the fans are seeing, certainly in this transfer window and the type of players we are trying to bring in, is that we are moving in the right direction.
"We are trying to resign some of the players coming out of contract. Hopefully we will have Chris Samba tied up tomorrow and he has obviously attracted a lot of interest."
Roberts, who will sign a one-year extension, said: "The manager has a lot of belief in the senior guys at the club and wants to reward the lads who perform well for the club."
