Blackburn Rovers boss Steve Kean hopes to make a defensive signing in the next 48 hours.
The Lancashire Telegraph says Kean is understood to be hopeful of securing a Premier League defender on loan.
He is looking to bolster his squad ahead of Saturday's trip to Aston Villa.
