Blackburn Rovers boss Paul Ince believes keeping Michael Owen beyond the January market is key to Newcastle United's survival hopes.

He said: "I don't think a team with Michael Owen in it will go down. He's one of the greatest goalscorers of all time."

After victory at St James' Park, Ince added: "It's not easy managing in the Premier League,' he said. 'But I've been at Macclesfield, so don't talk to me about things being tough."
