Blackburn Rovers boss Paul Ince admits a move for free agent Stephen Appiah is a non-starter.
Ince said: "It is a transitional period at this club. People have to understand that we have just come here and are changing things slowly because you can't change them overnight.
"We just don't have the resources that other teams have. Fulham have spent £10 million on Andy Johnson, Everton can spend £15 million on Fellaini and Aston Villa and Spurs have both spent in excess of £60 million. We can't do that.
"Players like Stephen Appiah might be free agents, but they still want wages of around £60,000 a week. I've known about him since he was at Juventus a few years ago, but players like that ask for the world and we can't compete."
