Blackburn Rovers boss Mark Hughes admits he's still amazed that he was able to snap up Bayern Munich striker Roque Santa Cruz in the summer for £3.5 million.

Five goals in his past two matches have taken Santa Cruz's tally for the season to 11.

"I'm amazed no one had signed him," Hughes said. "Everyone is seeing what he can offer. A lot of clubs wanted him. Maybe we were fortunate in that he'd had a bad run of injuries, when people lost faith in him."
