Blackburn boss Hughes slams Allardyce pressure

Blackburn boss Mark Hughes has slammed pressure put on managers as ridiculous.

Rovers play host to Newcastle and their beleaguered boss Sam Allardyce who is feeling the full force of supporters' anger after The Magpies' dreadful performance against Liverpool last Saturday.

Hughes has spoken out in support of his fellow manager and is adamant that he should be given more time to change The Magpies' fortunes.

"The pressure comes too quickly these days and it's ridiculous," said the Blackburn coach.

"There are so many platforms for people to spout their opinions and it all adds to the pressure on managers and teams.

"It's surprising but it's the nature of the job these days. Sometimes people jump on bandwagons and something starts to get out of control. It's crazy given the amount of time Sam's been there."
