Blackburn Rovers boss Mark Hughes says Kiwi defender Ryan Nelsen is nearing a return from his hamstring injury.

"He's not at full pelt at the moment," said the Rovers boss. "But he's getting very close and he's more confident in the injury. He's probably stronger now than he has been.

"He's got that confidence behind him so hopefully we can start stepping it up now, possibly give him a game just to get back on track, and then hopefully he'll be available for selection for the remaining games."
