Blackburn Rovers boss Mark Hughes is interested in the job at Manchester City.
The Guardian says Hughes is Thaksin Shinawatra's fall-back option should talks with Sven Goran Eriksson continue to stall.
Worryingly for Blackburn, Thaksin's advisers at the stockbroker Seymour Pierce have been led to believe Hughes would leave Ewood Park, regardless of his being a former Manchester United player.
