Blackburn boss Hughes insists Bentley will stay

After securing Benni McCarthy to a new contract yesterday, Blackburn Rovers boss Mark Hughes is confident of keeping hold of star winger David Bentley.

This close season it is likely to be England ace Bentley who attracts interest from Chelsea and Liverpool.

But Hughes said: "If we feel that letting a player go weakens us, we don't let them go.

"Benni was a case in point and we wanted him to stay.

"This year we don't have to sell David Bentley. We aren't looking to sell him and that's it."
