Blackburn boss Hughes demands explanation from McCarthy

Blackburn Rovers boss Mark Hughes is demanding an explanation from Benni McCarthy over his furious early exit from Ewood Park on Saturday.

The striker was substituted after 61 minutes of the 3-1 win over Newcastle and left the ground before the match finished.

Hughes is not happy with his star and wants to talk through his actions.

It is not the first time this season Hughes and the South African have fallen out.

McCarthy, 30, was left out of the Rovers squad at Sunderland in September and was told to work on his sharpness in training.
