Blackburn boss Mark Hughes will be a Chelsea fan again on Sunday - hoping his old club can make it easier for his new one to get into Europe.

Hughes followed the Stamford Bridge club as a kid and will cheer them on in the Carling Cup Final as a Tottenham win would mean one fewer UEFA Cup slot for Rovers to chase.

"We'll be waiting to see the result of the cup final, that could make it even more difficult for us," Hughes told The Mirror.

Rovers went through via the InterToto this season and that unfashionable method has suddenly caught on as Hughes added: "There are a lot of clubs who looked on it with disdain now realise its worth."
