Blackburn boss Hughes backs Ince for Derby

Mark Hughes feels reported Derby target Paul Ince would be a fine addition to the Premier League managerial ranks.

Bookmakers stopped taking bets on Monday following a flood of money for MK Dons boss Ince to succeed Billy Davies at Pride Park.

Blackburn chief Hughes feels his former Manchester United team-mate would be a good appointment.

"I wish him well if that is going to happen for him," Hughes said on Tuesday.

"It will be a fantastic step for him. He has gone very far in a short space of time and I wish him well if that's going to happen.

"I think Paul was always one of those who had a real interest in the game and he has had the experience of European football which perhaps opened his eyes to the coaching side.

"He is a strong character and I am sure whoever gets Paul as a manager will enjoy the experience."
