Blackburn boss Allardyce lifts his BBC ban

Sam Allardyce is ready to lift his ban on the BBC after being named Blackburn Rovers manager this week.

Allardyce has not spoken to the Beeb for more than two years since an investigation programme into some transfer dealings when he was with former club Bolton.

Nothing was proved and Allardyce was not charged by the FA.

But he made his point by refusing interview requests from the BBC even during his time as Newcastle boss.

Programmes like Football Focus, Match of the Day and Radio 5 Live have been snubbed since October 2006.

A friend of Allardyce told The Sun: "Sam has decided it's time to move on.

"He is just happy to be back in the game and enjoying management again."
