Blackburn Rovers boss Sam Allardyce is weighing up a shock move for Real Madrid striker Ruud van Nistelrooy.
He admits the £120,000-a- week wages the Dutchman, who is 33 next week, currently gets at the Bernabeu means it could be a long shot for Rovers.
But Allardyce has not shied away from signing big names before with Nicolas Anelka, JayJay Okocha and Youri Djorkaeff already on his CV.
He said: "The sort of salary he'd be on at Real Madrid may be beyond us.
"But perhaps he wants to come and play in England again and take less of a salary, then we'd be interested."
