Blackburn Rovers boss Sam Allardyce is eyeing Newcastle United midfielder Kevin Nolan.

The Evening Chronicle says reports in Lancashire claimed that Allardyce was set to swoop for his former Bolton Wanderers skipper Nolan when he returns from his holiday in the Maldives.

Allardyce said this week: "I'm going to be in a place where you can't get a signal on your mobile and there is no email access. I'm just going to reflect on what Blackburn have achieved this season."
