Blackburn boss Allardyce eager to complete transfer business before World Cup

Blackburn Rovers boss Sam Allardyce is eager to do his transfer business before the World Cup.

Allardyce has made it clear a new striker is at the top of his priority for next campaign, some-thing he is keen to address as soon as possible.

He told the Lancashire Telegraph: "My search probably won't take me to the World Cup. If they play well at the World Cup they will be beyond our capabilities of signing them.

"We have got to really make a decision before the World Cup starts on what we are going to do and who we are going to get.

"If we wait for the World Cup to progress and finish we aren't going to be able to get any of those who might have done well because the price would double and treble.

"It would not be for me to go out and try and secure one then. I want to get it sorted before the World Cup so I can relax a little bit more and enjoy my holidays and enjoy watching the World Cup."
